Well, if Gerry doesn’t make money in the U.S. his career will be impacted internationally. His popularity in the U.S. established his popularity worldwide. If this film flops I am afraid Gerry’s ability to get distributors and wide theater openings in the U.S. will be a struggle his films will move to a limited release with streaming options. The movie industry for theater releases has changed due to COVID theater owners what the Avatar’s and Marvel films that bring in the audiences unfortunately.

Maybe he only care to be famous in US and also the box office, maybe it's enough for him to have the status of celeb in US where he decided to live.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas…. The men in my family have been watching football all weekend., and the good news about that is that PLANE tv spots 👏were shown .. one yesterday was short but the one I saw during a afternoon game was longer and was clever. I hope they continue to promote the film 🎥

You know this film may do well because the ones that are out now aren't doing so great against Avatar. Avatar will be a month old, and some people will be looking for different movie to see. It is happening because some of the movie sequels are not going to be made. Wonder woman, and some others like that. I never got into those comic book movies. The Ark might turn out good because it is an action story that looks different. I think maybe HW is starting to think they need to branch out to movies with more substance than a cartoon.

Not great news on the potential box office., this on the net today.. www.goldderby.com/feature/january-2023-box-office-preview-1205211668/“Plane” (Lionsgate – Jan. 13) Gerard Butler and Mike Colter (“Luke Cage”) team-up for this action-thriller as the airplane pilot and his passenger, a convict being transported to jail, who are forced to fight when their plane lands in the middle of a war zone during a bad storm. Directed by Jean-François Richet (“Assault on Precinct 13″) , this looks like a decent action movie, but it feels like it’s getting a fairly low-key release, so it will probably end up with around $10 million for its release on the crowded MLK Jr. holiday weekend. I wonder why Lionsgate moved the movie to such a crowded weekend, it just set it up to fail.. |

 It is just sad, Gerry’s movie is being ignored - none of the forecast of best films to see in January are including PLANE., latest poll of anticipated was 46% for MEGAN, 28% for Otto and only 14% for PLANE.. it feels like a total diss of the film is contributing to that low number. I checked for theaters in the metropolitan area were I live and so far only 3 different Cinemax theaters are showing the film and only 4 screenings per day. It is Not listed at AMC theaters so far. I haven’t seen any tv spots since the 2 that I saw a week ago. I’ve seen a few free screenings for Jan 11th and I hope they generate interest. Gerry can’t afford another box office flop. edited to note that on Twitter I just saw a trailer in Spanish that is so good… it has a lot of action scenes none of that low key family man type of moments (which I do like) but they loose the young men audience. here it is hope this link works.
