He talks about it being metal meshed into leather and the alligator trim. For now, I can only go by what's written on JJ as I'm unable to view the video. Metallised leather is what his costume was made of. No such fabric exists, so it would've taken ages to make that and costly. Lots of fittings would've taken place. Very timely. The costume department wanted to use leather, but Gerry wanted metal. I'm actually glad he didn't get his own way. What if every cast member wanted something different? He appears to be a very nice guy, a loyal friend for life, but maybe Gerry demands, interferes too much on set/and before filming? He was seen telling the LHF director how to do his job apparently. I don't know if we actually have that on the LHF thread though. I'm so frustrated I can't view the video. gah

I don't know if we actually have that on the LHF thread though. I'm so frustrated I can't view the video. gah Hi, No, it was the opposite -Gerry wanted leather and the costume department wanted to use metal,. They would have probably made a fabrication that had the strength of metal and the pliability of leather. It would probably have not been that costly because they are using applications like that all of the time now for manufacturing fabrics for bullet proof vests, etc. I am sure though that it was very high-tech and impressed Gerry. When you watch that video you will see that the costume director said that was that Geoffrey Rush was very involved in his costume and it sounded like he was even more involved than Gerry's request of just being a choice between metal and leather. It would have been very hard for Gerry to do his fight scenes in a metal costume while his co-star Nick worn leather for the entire film good move by Gerry. I didn't see that LHF video, but producers do tell the directors what to do - Steven Spielberg's fame as a producer proves it., but I think Gerry would be better off not producing his own films and concentrating on his acting. A lot of actors start to produce to have control but I think it doesn't always work - Hugh Jackman stopped producing his own films because he said he found it to distracting and it was affecting his acting - he only kept the Wolverine franchise going. I think Gerry should do the same, but maybe he just isn't getting any good offers. I wish Gerry could move to do more supporting roles in higher profile films, but I think that market is flooded with younger actors getting those roles. Some directors though treat actors terribly, I work with a woman who is an actress for local theater but always works as an extra if a film is done locally. She said that directors treat actors like crap and shout and demean A list actors all of the time. She said it is humiliating to watch.

flickdirect.com/4k-review/1507/gods-of-egypt/4k.ashxGods of Egypt 4K Ultra HD Review The film had a lot of things going for, and against, it. First, and maybe the most glaring issue, is the lack of ethnic authenticity of the film. Casting Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is what most would think of as odd choices for such a film. However, if you are just going on the acting ability, both actors do an amazing job in their roles and breathe three dimensional life into what could be 2 dimensional cartoon cut out characters.
