George Clooney, Sandra Bullock, Gerard Butler, Tom Hiddleston pack bags for Louisiana film projects
"As for Butler, he's set to star in another Warner Bros.-backed project, one that has been in pre-production in town since early July. That film: director Dean Devlin's sci-fi disaster epic "Geostorm." In it, Butler will reportedly play a satellite designer who must head to space to save the world from the potential fallout from a fleet of malfunctioning climate-controlling satellites.
"Geostorm" will mark the feature directing debut of Devlin, whose past credits include as a screenwriter on such films as 1992's "Universal Solider," 1996's "Independence Day" and 1998's "Godzilla." Principal photography is scheduled to begin in October."

I did see that Geostorm's date got bumped because of some kind of DC comic movie switch or something. I wish films weren't so locked in to such faraway dates, but I'm glad to see the signs of production showing up down South, yay!

It sounds great, and Andy Garcia is not too bad either.

Interesting. A lot of cast still just in talks in what would seem to be late in the game, but good ensemble. So who will be the brothers getting into space to wrangle the satellite? Butler and Sturgess look enough a like I guess. Sturgess is supposed to be the bad boy with the chick, though, hehe.

Why not? Some scientists have a tendency of being a bit nerdy. Would be nice seeing him in a role where he got to play something a bit different, and not just like the normal "action hero" type for a change.

Yes Harris and Garcia can do action but lend a bit of seriousness to it. I guess the new trend is science fiction that is a visual spectacle but cerebral perhaps again, like Gravity, rather than all action like Armageddon. I'd rather see serious. I'm a bit tired of blockbusters taking over everything. Looks like it is coming together nicely. Perhaps GB had the summer reserved for London and then expected this in the Fall, but since the sets and production for London wasn't ready, it is just this ramping up?

He's the good guy in The Abyss and The Right Stuff, and Apollo 13. I was thinking more of his sci fi clout rather than some of the recent offbeat stuff he does.

The ending let you figure out, but you kinda already knew. Weird! GOOD movie though. Wonder if Gerry will have a romance in Geostorm?

Are the brothers estranged because of her I wonder? Although if she is a secret service agent, why does she have to be the love interest for anyone? Should be interesting how it plays out. Hehe, do you mean Maria Bello? Don't you just love auto correct?!

Anyone who knows how to turn off that auto correct? It feels like it`s tuned to the language in the country you`re posting from. I always have to look through what I`m writing before posting, and it always turns "go" into "og" (meaning "and" in my language) And why on earth does it always automatically change some letters into capital ones? It`s really annoying.
