Just saw the ad for AHF and it's new where they call it #1 and say everyone says it's the best of the three.

Not so good news for box office this 4 day weekend for AHF.. from Deadline Hollywood this afternoon — deadline.com/2019/08/angel-has-fallen-dont-let-go-blumhouse-labor-day-weekend-box-office-1202708288/“As such, Lionsgate/Millennium’s Gerard Butler threequel Angel Has Fallen will own the top spot for a second weekend in a row with an estimated $10M 4-day, $8.1M (-62%) 3-day taking its 11-day total to $39M, which is $1M shy of the same running total of previous chapter London Has Fallen which ended its stateside run at $62.5M. Angel‘s second Friday is estimated at $2.7M, -66% at 3,336 theaters.” 62% 4 day weekend drop & a 66% Friday drop from opening Friday is really not good — I think the bad reviews have caused this severe drop in Box Office... I was only expecting a 50% drop. I really think Lionsgate dropped the ball in its PR tv push.. AHF will probably will not match LHF $62 million since the competition for screens is going to be tremendous starting next weekend with the release of IT2. i think the movie will in the end with foreign totals around $50 million and $50 million domestically for $100 million total worldwide. Edited update from Deadline Hollywood on box office for AHF This update is correct!!!!!!
Angel Has Fallen’ Still In Flight At Sluggish Labor Day Box Office With $16M+ 4-Day – Friday Night Update
“As expected, Lionsgate/Millennium’s Gerard Butler threequel Angel Has Fallen still owns the top spot for the 2nd weekend in a row with an updated estimated $13M 3-day (-39%) and 4-day of $16.8M (there was a major glitch in some gross systems earlier today, oops) taking its 11-day total to $45.9M, 15% ahead of the running total of previous chapter London Has Fallen at the same point in time which finaled at $62.5M domestic. Angel‘s second Friday is estimated at $3.1M, -60% at 3,336 theaters.” ————-
3rd up date -total for weekend looks to be lower, most likely $13- 14 million for 4/days.. Friday was lower than estimated, I wonder if the hurricane is affecting the box office.. people are preparing from Florida and the southern east coast states.

Weekend estimated total. Weekend Domestic Chart for August 30, 2019 Angel Has Fallen (2019) (1) Angel Has Fallen Lionsgate $11,575,000 -46% 3,336 $3,470 $40,689,221 For Sep. 2, 2019. $2,925,000 TOTAL Aug 30–Sep 2 $14,500,000
Angel has Fallen Domestic Total as of Sep. 2, 2019: $43,614,221 (Estimate)
Good news but 2million less than estimated .. Box office mojo has not posted any Foreign Box office totals to date.
FINALLY FOREIGN TOTAL TO AHF Angel Has Fallen raised another $12.8M in 44 markets for an offshore cume to date of $28.7M. (Not sure if this is a good enough start to make it possible for the film to make it to a $100 million foreign box office-so far the film does not have a release date in China.

DM started a thread on Gerry's film staying at #1 for a second week. The posts are pretty positive so far and they all keep saying it is the best of three. I thought I read somewhere that it was opening in Hong Kong on the 29tn but with all the rioting I don't think anyone will stop to see a movie.

RHong Kong was scheduled for a release but mainland China is still not scheduled, LHF made $52 million during its release in China. If the film doesn’t get a release there the foreign box office could be around $90 million & total of $160 million like the OHF total Box office total. Which is still good since budget was less. Competition is going to be tough It2 is having a world wide release so it will be top earner everywhere.

Ok here is my two cents. They are saying slow weekend and no competition. Well maybe the reason for both was because they knew they didn't have any movies in this time slot that would have been able to compete with AHF so they didn't put their movies up against it. Some people just won't give him credit when it is due him.
