Even though I love seeing these two on screen together it makes sense that Aaron wouldn't return for a third,after two movies the third would need a new president elect.We know Angela won't be in this third one. |

I'm not surprised. He seemed reluctant to do the second and their story together has been told.
Would rather see him in it, but in a cameo opening exit or at an event to start as the former president to handshake and introduce the incumbent- you know, not totally gone and just a reference.
Honestly, don't see why it can't be a female president since some of the cast are gone, or if it is one promoted like Morgan Freeman or Melissa Leo. Casting news should be interesting. Olympus had more name people I think then London, which helped anchor the action.

I'm sad to see that Aaron will not be in Angel has Fallen, but if they want to continue the franchise for Gerry he will have to be able to expand the storylines.
I bet Morgan Freeman won't be back also so I hope they will be able to secure another A-list cast for Angel Has Fallen.

Yes a new coop on casting would be great. That's where I think London was lacking, the girl agent was only briefly there and not a familiar face. A cameo name in that part would have been great but Gerry doesn't seem to have friends or connections to pull of a surprise player for the favor or gracious price. New leaders and directors that Banning isn't buddy with would be a good way to go.

I am wondering if Gerry can sell that 3rd installment on his involvement in the film only, and if buyers would want Morgan and Aaron's names attached. I think they may need to get some additional A-list cast members on board prior to selling that film - times are tough in the movie business that is why sequels sell they have a built in audience so you need that hook.
Hope we hear some casting news soon since they are selling the film at the film Film Festival event this weekemd where HC is being marketed at along with his new film "Keepers".

They have to already have someone in mind or a few names in talks to be able to wheel and deal and announce, add more star power to it.
I'll ask you, who do you want to be the new president in Angel Has Fallen? I don't really know who I want.

Interesting. I know it is the plot and maybe it can't be helped but that poster might be eye catching for the wrong reasons with some 9/11 undertones. Sometimes I do think this series is sorry not sorry for being little too close to home.
