It seems like the entertainment press in Canada are just becoming aware that Headhunter's Calling is a Canadian film. www.torontosun.com/2016/07/26/tiff-2016-to-include-the-magnificent-seven-birth-of-a-nation-films-by-denis-villeneuve-oliver-stone
At the TIFF announcement, Bailey reiterated that a full slate of Canadian films would be announced Wednesday, and that one of the announced galas, The Headhunter’s Calling, with Gerard Butler, is Canadian, while two others, Arrival and The Journey is the Destination are directed by Canadians.

It looks like Headhunter's Calling was the only Canadian entry announced yesterday and the Canadian press seems to be concerned about that fact. I am hoping that Canadian audiences will make a effort to see the film to support the Canadian film industry.

I agree, I think it is going to be a very emotional movie and I so hope Gerry and cast deliver it in a way that it is not seen as a clichéd film about loss like P.S. I Love You was when it was released. This film is a big risk and I hope that award winning script translates to a wonderful movie. It will be hard to watch just like P.S. I Love you but I know Gerry will deliver a great performance like he did in P.S. I Love You. Gerry made that movie memorable.

I must say I hope this is the start of rolling out the movie to additional film festivals, however I think this film will not have a theatrical release unless it is received well at TIFF. I am betting the movie will have a platform roll out and direct to cable and pay to view only.
