Headhunter's Calling site at TIFF includes a movie description I didn't notice it before - www.tiff.net/films/the-headhunters-calling/
Interesting description of Gerry's performance - "Grounded in a generous, soul-searching lead performance from Gerard Butler"
I am not sure what that means in the world of acting, but I know and agree when they said said Gerry gave a "searing performance as Sam Childers" .

This film could become a pivoting point in his career, I really hope it's a success and he can finally show what he is really capable of.

Wonderful to see PR for HC in Entertainment Weekly and what a great article! Glad to read that the director appreciated Gerry's talent and I hope the critics and audiences will agree with him regarding Gerry's performance!!

I loved reading this about Gerry in this article. People will find out what we already know, how good he is at everything he does. Except for the onery parts we could do without.
I, like you, think this may be the one that gives him a lift in the spotlight. Things happen so I will say no more, but I will read this a few more times!!!
Praying this film is a BIG HIT! Kleenex and all....

TIFF 2016: From 'Magnificent Seven' to 'Blair Witch,' the 16 biggest films coming to TorontoBy Bruce Kirkland, Postmedia Network Friday, September 2, 2016 9:00:00 EDT www.niagarafallsreview.ca/2016/09/02/tiff-2016-from-magnificent-seven-to-blair-witch-the-16-biggest-films-coming-to-torontoBig films, whether they are star-driven, Hollywood-made or impactful for the critical issues they explore, are the meat and potatoes of any film festival banquet. The Toronto International Film Festival is no different. So, while we still enjoy finding the hidden treasures and pleasures that serve as desserts, here are the main courses for TIFF 2016 … and we found 16 titles that fit the criteria: #7 • The Headhunter’s Calling (Gala): American producer Mark Williams makes his directorial debut with an intense family drama shot in Toronto and Chicago. It stars Gerard Butler as a corporate headhunter who is manipulating his way into a promotion, putting him in conflict with a colleague played by Alison Brie. But serious family issues soon thrust Butler into a conflict between his selfish interests and the greater good. --entire list at link above.--

This article on TIFF included a mention of Headhunter's Calling www.yahoo.com/news/toronto-film-festival-looks-back-us-politics-034056358.htmlI didn't realize that one of Gerry's co-stars was in two films last year at TIFF - "Last year, audience favorite "Spotlight" beat all predictions to win best picture at the Academy Awards, while Brie Larson -- who is back again this year in "Free Fire" and "The Headhunter's Calling" -- received a nod for her performance in "Room", which also screened here first."
