Ok, I thought this was a go for Gerry? Well, anyway, I really have a good feeling about Gerry being in this one. I love this kind of film, and he will look great and we know he know he will fit perfect into this character! I think so to skosh0297. It looks like a great role he would do wonders in. Of course I'm just a lil prejudice when it comes to Gerry's films LOL but I really do believe it would be another great one for him. smiley-signs007

Really hopeful for this project and hope we hear a formal announcement of Gerry's involvement soon.

P.S I wanted to add that I think your site has the best discussion on Gerry's film projects and it is one of the reasons I decided to join your forum. I am looking forward to joining in!

There is an article saying HK is postponed and it may be moved to NOLA. Tax reasons, tourist season, moving back to September. What the hell goes on with his movies, always something comes up that causes some kind of delays. He really needs to send his team packing. They can't seem to find anything for him that is on solid ground. He can't afford to have another gap in time with his movies. He doesn't need to stay associated with Avi L. He has said everything happens for a reason and I believe that too but he is a good actor and this kind of stuff should not be happening to him over and over. Sorry, I am just upset over this news. He deserves better.

The article said the movie is not dead just postponed. That doesn't matter, it still is a delay which means he may not be part of it if it doesn't look like it is a done deal. Maybe they were just using his name to get money to film. They people that showed up for the casting call are still going to be called if it happens. This doesn't bode well, it sounds like it has all come down to money or lack of it.

smiley-angry017 I am so angry about this news, another Gerry movie that may never make it to production. Relativity productions has spelled disaster for Gerry I think he needs to run when he hears that name.
I am sorry to say that news that the film maybe done in Louisiana for the tax credits instead of Alaska is so wrong, the whole movie would have to be done on green screens sets with the air-conditioning system turned down to 30 degrees. gah
Hope Gerry will surprise us with another project - Geostorm came out of no where so maybe there is another big studio block-buster waiting in the wings. smiley-confused013

www.ktva.com/producer-hunter-killer-not-dead-just-postponed-557/Producer: ‘Hunter Killer’ not dead, just postponed By Lauren Maxwell 11:07 AM March 6, 2015 WHITTIER – The producer of a major motion picture that was supposed to film in Whittier this spring said the movie project isn’t dead it’s just been postponed. Scott Lumpkin is executive producer for the film “Hunter Killer,” a U.S.-Russian spy thriller featuring submarines. Lumpkin confirmed the movie will be shooting heavily outside the state, but he said Alaskan scenes will still be shot in Whittier starting in September. Late last year, producers had said the big-budget film would primarily be shot in the little Southcentral town. Lumpkin said the change was made for several reasons. He said the script is being rewritten, which has pushed the timetable back by several weeks. That was an issue, he said, because the shooting schedule now runs into the summer tourism season. Cruise ships are scheduled to dock in Whittier May 1 and the production company had hoped to use the cruise ship terminal as their base camp. When asked if the Alaska film tax credits played a part in the decision, Lumpkin said no. He said to his knowledge, the production was still in line to get tax credits, provided they made the necessary expenditures in Alaska. When asked how big those expenditures might be, Lumpkin said he couldn’t say. He said the production has already spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in the state and has had Alaskans on the payroll since mid-January. He added that people who came out for casting calls will still be needed in the fall. He said the latest information can be found on the SprocketHeads website.

Thanks for that new article oh the dreaded script changes which are never good, but it does look like they are now planning to "shoot heavily outside" of Alaska. Guess that submarine will be on set in Louisiana so snow will not be required LOL

Script, time, and location compromised so rich movie producer moguls can save a few hundred grand on the incentives. Sigh. If you had a good story and took the dang time to film in the right place you'd make back those higher costs in ticket and video sales. Forest for the trees, nose to spite the face filming is the norm

And Variety too......... smiley-angelic012 Common, Billy Bob Thornton Join ‘Hunter Killer’ (EXCLUSIVE)Billy Bob Thornton and Common will star opposite Gerard Butler in Relativity’s action-thriller “Hunter Killer” with shooting starting in mid-July in New Orleans. Set beneath the polar ice cap, the story centers on a renegade Russian military leader who pushes the U.S. to the brink of a nuclear confrontation. Cut off from all outside communication, a submarine commander and an elite Navy special forces unit are all that stand between the Russian assault and all-out war. Martin Campbell (“Green Lantern”) will direct “Hunter Killer” from Peter Craig’s script, which is based on the novel “Firing Point” by George Wallace and Don Keith. The film is being produced by Original Films’ Neal Moritz and Toby Jaffe, and Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh. Relativity president Tucker Tooley will executive produce. Butler will portray the Capt. Glass. Thonrton will play Admiral Charles Donnegan and Common portrays Rear Admiral John Fisk. Thornton appeared most recently in “The Judge” and in FX’s “Fargo” miniseries. He’s currently filming David Gordon Green’s “Our Brand Is Crisis.” He is represented by WME and Media Talent Group. The casting of Common comes on the heels of his and John Legend’s Academy Award win for their original song “Glory” from the film “Selma.” Common also portrayed civil rights leader James Bevel in that film. Common is represented by CAA and Oasis Entertainment Management.
