"I thought 'You know what, for me it is all about things that enrich your life experience.' I want to get involved in different things, so I thought how cool it would be.
"And Jamaica, for me, I have visited there a lot, I have a special affection for that place and they have Chris Gayle, so I thought that would be the one to get involved with." -- He said he was in it for the long haul not just a passing whim. Everybody wants to belong but this is an investment, a business venture and most certainly not to be taken lightly. Mark Wahlberg and Gerry were originally going to invest together but decided that Gerry wanted the Tallawahs and Mark took Barbados Tridents. Sir Richard Branson also has equity stake in a team. It is also an investment in the Caribbean economy. People love the friendly atmosphere and the culture and obviously Gerry has spent happy times there as well and loves it. The teams are a big drawing card for vacationers. I doubt that Gerry's friend and now business associate Ajmal would not have advised him otherwise. IMO nothing is missing in his life but the desire to enrich it and not overlooking the financial gains if all goes well. This is not a child's game.. again an investment opportunity for a growing CPL. Expanding his horizons if you will. The only thing I do agree with you is the motivational part. He excels and that remains obvious in his world tour for OHF. He worked bloody hard and it was a successful venture in movie making that wasn't expected to be the blockbuster it was. IMO he made it so.
