DOT2 has 50Cent as a cast member. I thought he died in the firat movie. I know he is a producer in the second movie. That would be interesting to see how that is played out.

I found that casting interesting also, maybe he will be seen flashbacks, while Gerry is trying to track down O’Shea Jackson’s character “Donnie’. |

I don't think DOT2 is on hold for schedule issues, I think it has to do with financing. Gerry doesn't seem to get any work unless he is producer. No one involved with the sequel is going to turn down work on other projects waiting for it to start. I don't like to be a downer but it just seems harder for him to get the backing he needs. There is always some kind of situation that stops production.

This article is questioning why Den of Thieves is getting a sequel,especially since it only made $80 million on a $30 million production budget, I am starting to be very skeptical that this project will even happen, especially since they did not announce Domestic distributor. I noted that in a previous post. quote- “As a general rule of thumb, franchises are born when an opening installment finds either widespread acclaim from critics and audiences or turns a hefty profit at the box office, ideally both. Christian Gudegast’s Den of Thieves arguably accomplished neither of those things, but a second installment in the freshly-minted Gerard Butler series is nonetheless on the way. Nothing about filming locations announced only news Gerry gave during interview was that he was going to be filming in a couple months. He definitely put on the weight for the role.

I noticed that a lot of the supporting cast members are announced right before filming starts. The major cast members have been on IMDb since DOT2 was announced.. a few were eliminated over the past 2 years… 50 cent is no longer listed along with Meadow Williams as actor.. but she is still listed as a Producer. Only Gerry, O’Shea Jackson and Bob Jennings listed on IMDb right now and that new actor is not listed yet.
