Maybe he was saying if you want a sophisticated heist movie then DOT's get down and get dirty is not for you. Regardless of what any critics say, it is a hit and getting a sequel, that speaks for itself.

I can't believe that a poster on JJ said that Den of Theives selected for one of the best movies of 2018 was nothing because there were only 20 films released since the start of the year, in reality there have been over 100+ films released since the beginning of the year. It looks like DOT did not add to it's international box office totals this past weekend or nothing was reported by the studio because there is no new update on Box Office Mojo totals. There are only 3 regions left for release Brazil, Spain opening next weekend and Italy not until May. None of these markets are large so I think we may only see another 1 million added to its international total. Which would take the world wide total to domestic/foreign to $76 million. |

another 1.6 million added to the foreign box office this weekend for DOT Brazil and Spain added. Italy was last weekend.
As of April 15, 2018
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $44,947,622 57.2%
+ Foreign: $33,600,000 42.8%
= Worldwide: $78,547,622 😀👏
I would love to see the movie's World wide box office make it to $80 million there are no new regions slated for release so the film will be winding down in the next week. Hoping these last 3 locations will hold another 1.6 million to make that happen!!

A new review of DOT on Twitter and I feel the same way about comparison to Heat when he said " It's caught enough flak for ripping off "Heat", which is a claim I don't agree with 100%. Any movie can approach any topic from any angle the director/writer sees fit. In this case Gudegast wanted "Heat" to be his template. The two films couldn't be more different aside from its basic concept, so the rip-off claim is just typical overreacting from critics. "Den of Thieves" won't always make sense, but if you can live with that, it's an entertaining heist thriller featuring a solid cast, satisfying action, and decent twists.
