Is anybody out there glad that he backed out of Point Break, when I read that he signed up for it I was like whyyyyyyy!!!!. So happy when he backed out of that one. I saw the original which was good for the time it came out, but some type of remake,no thanks smiley-gen165 I find stupid almost every remake ... because you always have to redo a film as such to the previous one? if you change something then it makes sense, but only because you want the new actors to make more money? for me it makes no sense...

I for one am glad he is not doing point break. We don't need another remake. There needs to be more originality in smiley-dance008Hollywood.

Me too. But it did start to sound a bit more interesting when it was said that it was going to be quite different from the first one.

No offense, but remakes are hardly ever as good as the original ones. I totally breathed a sigh of relief!

I don't care for remakes either. I'm glad he's out of Point Break but in hindsight it also looks like the scheduling conflict was a flat out lie because he is doing nothing else. Right now this year he's filmed Gods of Egypt, had the press for Dragon 2, and done the Boss campaign. 3 things done, but with the Point Break drop and Geostorm seeing uncertain and London Has Fallen the same, it looks like he's spinning his wheels more so than what he's actually doing. Kind of weird that Boss is a good thing and yet some not in the know actively following film people will be like, Gerard Butler is just doing commercials now? Especially in comparison to people who are or were his contemporaries - Bale the win, Fassbender with the Oscar nom, Fiennes and Jolie respect, Mconassaince glory, Chastain rising. They do fun goofy stuff too, but not tabloid fodder or seemingly so little. I need this movie already! And just think, if neither Geostorm or London Has Fallen get off this year - even if they do somehow magically manage to start on time - he's still not going to be onscreen in theaters for what another year? smiley-shocked013 That's too long to keep the momentum from Olympus with only a voice role and Boss promos inbetween. gah gah I'm cracking I can't take it!

I still say he should take some supporting roles. It wouldn't be taking a step back. Some of the best roles are in supporting roles. Just hate that he has had some fallouts with his soapboxprojects.

DON'tHerEabouts, it is my kindle, but it still should not be doing this. No way it is anything to do with your site. At one time it only wrote foreign words and I had it set on English. I just did not want you to think I was a terrible Typer, speller, etc. Look what it did to your name? I have an iPad, but share with hubby, DON't think he would understand me being here! It does not matter what age you are.......LoL! Well it's definitely better than being called Pia. lmao

Abbie Cornish www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=638482559603923 Gun training today for #Geostorm was a lot of fun. Even got to play with a few guns at the range I haven't used before. Like this massive Bennelli automatic shotgun. Don, Eric and Jamie were great teachers. Stepped up my secret service game for sure.

moviehole.net/201480274gerard-butler-gets-a-tall-glass-of-water-for-geostormKatheryn Winnick (“Vikings”) has joined the cast of Warner Bros and Skydance Productions’ “Geostorm”, says Deadline. Gerard Butler stars in the film as a man sent into space to prevent climate-controlling satellites from creating a cataclysmic storm capable of destroying the planet. Winnick, whose other credits include “Love and Other Drugs” and “A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III”, plays Butler’s ex-wife and the mother of his daughter. Jim Sturgess, Andy Garcia, Ed Harris, and Abbie Cornish are also aboard the Dean Devlin (“Independence Day”) directed movie. Devlin wrote the film with Michele Mulroney and Kieran Mulroney. Production on “Gestorm” begins next month in New Orleans.
