Bad news on Late Night Shows appearances..

the Daytime talk shows that are syndicated are still airing, including the morning shows.. maybe Gerry could do a virtual visit but I am not real hopeful of that happening.  This week is importing for gearing up to do tv ads and especially ads on social media..so far zero traffic on IMDb page for Kandahar.

It seems that Kandahar only secured a few “limited” releases internationally - definitely doesn’t have the profile of a potential money maker at the box office.  Starting to wonder if it is the storyline that is not interesting to the international audiences.

I think Kandahar will do better than the Covenant. That movie has been out for three weeks and has just broken 15 million. Jake G. doesn't have the following that Gerry has. Just recently I saw where they were comparing similar movies. OHF and White house down. They said OHF was a better story line. So just maybe where fans are looking to see Gerry again on the big screen like they did for Greenland this will be a winner for him. At least they seem to be getting more ads for interest since Gerry is filming now and he will be limited in availability to promote it. I think the one on one in the Kandahar story which I think was based on the true story of the CIA agent mission was exposed. It is similar to the Covenant in both movies show translators trying to save who they have been to protect and work with. I hope the holiday weekend doesn't keep people away from the theaters. Fingers crossed for good critic reviews and public response for Gerry.

Kandahar is definitely an action movie.. and not a rescue of a translator but a spy fleeing a war zone with a translator.  They need to promote the“spy” who needs to escape storyline after being exposed by leaks. so that it isn’t compared to The Covenant.

Competition for box office will be now from Vin Diesl’s  Fast X being release on 5/19 this is going to be part one franchise’s two final films in the series.  Budget for those two films is over 325 million dollars.  Bet they are hoping to own the Memorial Dat weekend with that huge cost.  I am hoping Kandahar performs the same as Plane did at $11 million for a the long weekend release and $32 million domestic box office.   Little Mermaid is going to have the largest box office over Memorial Day weekend and Kandahar and Fast X will compete for the counter programming audience.  Hoping Gerry’s audience from Plane shows up.
