Right now on the Science channel they are discussing the disappearance of the lighthouse men that Keeper's is based on. It is interesting the speculations they have including a Loch Ness monster type attack.

They showed pics of what a sea monster like Nessie could have come out of the water and grabbed them. No one knows and that is why there is so much speculation and imaginary stories out there. It is spooky how there was not anything left of the men after there disappearance. No blood, body parts anything. Just an abandoned lighthouse. I wonder if any of the other lighthouse keepers had a hard time working there after this event. It is such an isolated location.

I remember at school, when we where told the story, the teacher said that one suggestion was that the keepers had all been outside and were washed into the sea by a huge wave. I suspect we will never know what happened to them.

This will be a great movie because regardless of how they portray it there will always be speculation left with everyone about what really happened to the men. You see that to this day and I think it still drives everyone a little crazy that they can't solve the puzzle. It will be a movie that will be the talked about for a long time just like the story itself.

I remember reading one article on the disappearances that a psychic who visited the site felt that the men went mad and jumped into the ocean after being exposed to toxic gas escaping from beneath the light house. I thought this may have been the basis for the film script but I do t know if it was. I noticed that on the IMDb page there is another working title for the film "The Devil to Pay". I wonder if they might change the title for a international market since there was a 7 episode Netflex docuseries called The Keepers that was released May, 2017 which has a 96% on Rotten tomatoes. so far only a release date of 2018 in the UK. Is listed on IMDb. I hope it gets a limited release.

Does appear as Google did translate gaelic to English as... the top translates to
And we are due to wait for the light to wait for the shadow of the night
And the lower translateso to
You rule over the sea when the waves arise you will prevent them

The Hollywood Reporter has an article that Saban has the North American rights to distribute the movie. This comes from Cannes Film Festival.
They saw the movie and said they loved it and Gerry is great in it. How wonderful.

So glad to see The Keepers got a North American distributor. It looks like though, that it will be a limited release and possibly a direct to VOD since it seems that this group deals in this platform distributing films. A little about Saban and films they have distributed at below link -they distributed The Shot Caller, Gerry's director of AHF film and it went direct to VIdeo on Demand in US but it did have a limited run internationally it made 2.8 million. www.movieinsider.com/c3935/saban-films?page_offset=0I think Saban is largely know for their successful Power Ranger movie/tv series and other Japanese manga films so I was surprised that they did indi films. I really thought fans in the US may not been able to see the film when it was release since it was a UK production so this is great news.
