Sequel to Plane “Ship” seems to not have secured major deals since Variety did not report any sales, usually Gerry’s films get big backers at this type of event. I can’t help but wonder if that Plane controversy could have hurt sales since the Manila press just reported again of the controversy and that it is reported that the Philippines will be part of the plot for the film and they wonder if it will see a backlash again from the country. hopefully the script could have Mike’s character escaping to Malaysia and then board a ship to leave there instead of the Philippines. variety.com/2023/film/global/vin-diesel-jude-law-liam-neeson-berlin-1235533280/

Terryann, the Plane has made a little over 50 million. Your wish has come true, yeah. Thanks for that news — I just checked Box office Mojo totals — that International total was a surprise, I wasn’t expecting another update until Wednesday. congratulations 🎉 to Gerry and the entire cast, director and producers of the film. That total should tick up a bit more but the Domestic total won’t move much higher maybe just another few thousands though. Grosses DOMESTIC (64.1%) $32,075,082
INTERNATIONAL (35.9%) $17,930,902
WORLDWIDE $50,005,984 🎉🎉🎉🎉

You deserve all the credit because you kept us all informed on the box office. You never gave up on the potential of the movie hitting 50 million. Gerry should be proud because the movie made back the investment and more. I wonder if this will help him finance some future roles.

😊I have been a little obsessed over Plane’s box office - boy the knives were out for the movie to be a flop and Lionsgate look to have zero faith in the movie, they did not want to invest any major marketing Domestically. That $50 million meant a lot , professionally since Cop Shop flopped. Most of all knowing Gerry is having health issues, I wanted Plane to be a box office success. 👍🎥🎉

They always seem to underestimate the power of Gerry when he gets a good script and cast and crew and director. I just hope he gets his health back in order. Gerry and Mike Colter show when you are working with an adult who isn't interested in promoting themselves but to give a great performance in the job, they take on to make a movie good. I am glad Gerry is going to work with him again. Mike has many fans, and he has good reviews for his work. Lionsgate wanted Plane out of the way for JW4 that was obvious by the way they handled its promotion.

darn.. looks like Plane’s run Domestically in theaters is over.. the movie is not on the theater counts for released films this weekend. It was only in 99 theaters this week and was in 17th place making only around $9,000 a day. the International total increased again on Box Office Mojo and I think it will continue to increase nominally, because it doesn’t have any major market areas releases left. Grosses as of March 2nd
DOMESTIC (62.8%) $32,111,181
INTERNATIONAL (37.2%) $18,987,223
WORLDWIDE $51,098,404
edited to update with Thursdays box office # Domestic and International… worldwide total now $51 million.👍👏

Plane international total is still increasing, so the worldwide total had a nice increase over the past 2 weeks not large but inching ahead. No new releases slated. It would have been nice if they got a release in China but the only Gerry movie that got a release was Geostorm which had a popular Chinese actor.
All Releases 3/15/23 DOMESTIC (62%) $32,111,181
INTERNATIONAL (38%) $19,644,051
WORLDWIDE $51,755,232
Edited to note - one new release for 3/15 in South Korea lots of competition though Shazam is being released also.

Even with politics trying to butt in, great to see backing from Gerry's peers 🤗

Plane has moved up in Vudu’s rental charts since the movie it is available for the first time as a regular digital purchase. And DVD, BluRay, will be released tomorrow for purchase.
Quote Rising from No. 10 to No. 4 on the chart was Lionsgate’s Plane, newly available for regular digital purchase after a premium run. In the film, pilot Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler) saves his passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island. When most of the passengers are taken hostage by dangerous rebels, the only person Torrance can count on for help is Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter), an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI.
Vudu’s top 10 titles for the week ended March 26, in terms of revenue, were:
1.Cocaine Bear 2.Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre 3.The Whale 4.Plane 5.Knock at the Cabin 6.Puss in Boots: The Last Wish 7.A Man Called Otto 8.Children of the Corn 9.Everything Everywhere All at Once 10. M3GAN: Unrated

Not sure what regions reported and if numbers are correct (which I am personally doubtful they are) but a big jump for PLANE🎉🎉👏👏. Link www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt5884796/?ref_=bo_se_r_1Darn, I found the error - looks like they recorded the total from Belgium incorrectly check out the numbers www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl3246555905/weekend/ it is off by a few million. The total box office for Plane is probably still $52 million. All Releases DOMESTIC (58.2%) $32,111,181 INTERNATIONAL (41.8%) $23,065,114 WORLDWIDE $55,176,295 - erroredited to note — Box office mojo updated box office numbers for Plane today and unfortunately, as I thought, they made an error on the Belgium numbers. Below are the correct totals. All ReleasesDOMESTIC (61.5%) $32,111,181 INTERNATIONAL (38.5%) $20,137,315WORLDWIDE $52,248,496
