I felt something looked a bit off with the make-up in this movie..
Can`t exactly put my finger on it, but think it`s because they didn`t manage to quite match the colours in hair, beard and eyebrows..

Hehe. I know what you mean. I think they were trying to age progress Attila first by having it all long and wild, and then having it shorter on top and pulled back, and then it is like they drew in a dark marker on his face to get the stereotypical Fu Manchu mustache over the beard! smiley-signs003 The black eyeliner changes around, too.
Amusing, but crazy if you think about it too much. Like, why does the princess wear corsets in Ancient Rome? And when they have Alice Krige wearing the one dress where there is no sleeve and her arm seems to be trapped inside? smiley-shocked013
I should retire now, but I'm too tired and can't sleep at the same time. gah

I remember coming home late one night, and my beautiful Mum, who I sadly lost to cancer last year, was still up watching something on TV. It as Attila. One of the TV channels was playing it all in one showing. When I walked in to see what Mum was watching, she said "You have got to come and have a look at this guy. He is gorgeous!" And I did. And he was hot!!!!  I cant remember if I had seen Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married yet or not, but I remember watching Gerard years ago in that and thinking "what a hottie!" I don't think I realized it was the same guy (this was before "google" for me!) Anyway, I was on a shopping trip with my Mum and I saw the DVD of Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married and I asked Mum if she remembered it and she did. I bought it and we started to watch it. When I saw him again, I just had to look him up. That was when the pieces all started to fall together and I realized that he had in fact played Attila, as well as being in the 300 (I am generally not into that sort of movie, but I am sure into that one ....!) To cut a long story short, I only managed to get my hands on the DVD of Attila three years ago after hunting high and low about it. When I look at the pictures now, I think, yes, my dear Mum was right - "that guy is gorgeous!). Dodgy eyeliner or not ..... smiley-dance008 |
