Sad news, and Sad that he never got the recognition for doing such a great job bringing POTO to the big screen.. I wonder if Gerry will make a comment.

No photo of Gerry 😢thankfully he did name him. Hard to believe it’s been 16 years since it was released.

Movie mentioned…. A positive and true comment…. Article on A fond farewell to “The Phantom of The Opera” An examination of the legacy of Broadway’s longest running show dailycollegian.com/2022/10/a-fond-farewell-to-the-phantom-of-the-opera/quote- “Y ou may remember the 2004 film production of “The Phantom of The Opera,” starring Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum. This is another rendition of the musical that will continue to exist for as long as movie-watching does, though there are some dissenters that argue about the interpretation of the show, attacking everything from its execution of the material to its casting and setting choices. Any medium of art will have those who critique it. The film deserves greater mention for its dedication to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s mastery of a musical, which now also forever lives through such productions.”

Good article. I loved the movie and not just because of Gerard, I felt in love with everything. The music is sublime and terrify at the same moment, every time I listen the overture I have goosebumps. When I can, I go to the theatre to see it, it's my fav. I can agree that Gerard was too handsome and sexy to be a terrify Phantom, but he gave us a very good performance, he showed us the pain, the anger of the Phantom. Patrick Wilson was perfect as Raoul. The costumes, the set design were just perfect. I studied the set design and I compered with Opera Garnier in Paris that I finally visit last year!! It's amazing!!

Agree with you 100% elsa... except that Gerry made an magnificent Phantom! Not just his performance as Phantom, but he's what the phantom should be in my opinion... his sexy is the draw that is hard to fight creating the tension of the 3. But again, totally agree, he did an amazing job in this!

Hhmmm... interesting. But at least the story will continue to live on... albeit without the best Phantom in them all 😁

I hope not, Disney, lately, is ruin many old stories, it's better for them stay away from POTO and there's no need of another movie, there are so many.
