👏🎥🤞News about possible participation Venice Film Festival for “In the Hand of Dante” read more at below link… Venice 2024: ‘Joker: Folie á Deux,’ Pablo Larraín’s ‘Maria,’ & More Likely To Premiere In Competition At Festival Ned Booth May 30, 2024 11:38 am Festivals, News With the 2024 Cannes Film Festival now over, it’s time for cinephiles to look ahead to the year’s next premier festival: Venice, which runs from August 28-September 7. Festival chief Alberto Barbera won’t announce the lineup of the Venice’s 81st edition until the last week of July, but Variety reports he already has his eyes on a few buzzy titles. Among them? ….. Quote— Star-studded movie more likely to compete for the Golden Lion is Julian Schnabel‘s “In The Hand Of Dante.” Gal Gadot, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Gerard Butler, Al Pacino, and Martin Scorsese star in the crime mystery, based on Nick Tosches‘ 2002 novel of the same name. The film follows two interweaving stories: Dante writing “The Divine Comedy” in 14th-century Italy, and the present-day authentification of a handwritten Dante manuscript circulating the black market. Franco Nero, Sabrina Impacciatore, and John Malkovich also star in Schnabel’s latest. Schnabel brought his last film, 2018’s “At Eternity’s Gate,” to Venice in 2018 (and three of his movies overall), so it’s likely he’ll be back this year, too. theplaylist.net/venice-2024-joker-folie-a-deux-pablo-larrains-maria-more-likely-to-premiere-in-competition-at-festival-20240530/

Interesting they changed the description of Hand of God movie IMDb…
Julian Schnabel in Hand of Dante (2024). CrimeDramaMystery A handwritten manuscript of Dante Alighieri's poem "The Divine Comedy" makes its way from a priest to a mob boss in New York City, where it is taken by Nick Tosches after he's asked to verify its authenticity.
seems like they eliminated promoting at least — this description… “The film follows two interweaving stories: Dante writing “The Divine Comedy” in 14th-century Italy, and the present-day authentification of a handwritten Dante manuscript circulating the black market.”
could be the reason they didn’t submit entry into Venice Fiim Festival, maybe they made changes and they are not finished yet.

From a site — this kinda sad to read… link .. www.worldofreel.com/blog/2024/7/23/venice-lineup-includes-guadagnino-almodovar-larrain-and-corbetQuote: UPDATE: As previously stated, Venice head Alberto Barbera rejected quite a few big names this year, including Mike Leigh, Joshua Oppenheimer, and Audrey Diwan. However, also missing inside this morning’s lineup was Julian Schnabel’s “In the Hands of Dante,” Lucrecia Martel’s “Chocobar,” Sebastian Lelio’s “The Wave,” and Rodrigo Prieto’s “Pedro Paramo.”
The big surprise is Halina Reijn’s A24-backed “Babygirl,” starring Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson, appearing in competition. Nobody saw this one coming. It’s set for a December release in the U.S.
Other than that, the big names expected to show up did, in fact, show up: Luca Guadagnino, Pedro Almodovar, Brady Corbet, Justin Kurzel, Todd Phillips, and Walter Salles. Not the showiest lineup Venice has had, but it does leave room for breakouts.
