It is sad/ but good that Gerry needs to obtain physical therapy regularly, wishes that he finds the relief he needs. Too bad Shushka wasn't their to be his buddy.

I love this pic, out of all the pics we have been able to see, this lady made him giggle. That is the one where the smiles reaches his eyes and lights up his whole face. She looks just as happy, I love it.

The reason I say this about the pic is all the others look like his normal fan posing and slight smiles but this one got him to giggle and your right it is a real smile, it shows all the way up to his eyes. I wonder what she said to get this response to make him look happy in this pic. She looks thrilled too and she is giggling too. One of the best pics from his visit.

God bless the polis, they are lovely! In 2005 the G8 summit was held in Scotland and to help with security police officers were brought up from England and they had to go through a crash course in Scots Law because some crimes have different names in Scotland and England (eg, in England it's arson and in Scotland it's wilful fire raising) and if someone was charged under the wrong name it could be thrown out of the courts. My cousin worked in a Government building in Edinburgh and two of her bosses, both of whom had lived in England, expressed their displeasure at English police being brought in. When asked why one of them said "the English police are not like the Scottish polis. With the polis you can have a laugh, a joke and a bit of banter, but you can't do that with the English police." Well the folk in Edinburgh soon found that out. The English police stuck out a mile with their silly pointed helmets and people tried to be nice to them and make them feel welcome, but the police weren't having any of it. There were many reports of people trying to talk to them but being ordered to "move on, or you'll be arrested."

I find this quite odd, living in England and having dealt with police a few times while doing papping work. They have always been a good sport, more so when Manchester got bombed when their humanity showed the most. I think some Scottish wants the division to carry on, and often speak ill of English, I must say I am glad not all of them are so close minded and Gerry has never had such attitude. He has always been open, friendly and I remember him to have always had a soft spot for London.

He has always been open, friendly and I remember him to have always had a soft spot for London. I'm sorry Arkady I didn't mean any offence, I was only going by what I have been told. Both bosses where my cousin worked had lived in London and they spoke from experience of police there. Also, there were many reports of how unfriendly they were during their stint in Edinburgh for the G8 summit. I can believe that Manchester police are different s there is a big difference between the North and South of England. I think that you will find that it's not the English that Scots speak ill off but the English establishment which does have a habit of forgetting that there is more than one country in these islands and think that the English way is how it's done everywhere. I hope we are still friends.
