I had put pumpkins on my patio not realising i was setting up an out door luncheon for the squirrels. I took pics of the one standing on its head in the pumpkin where you could only see its bushy tail hanging out of it. The closest i got to an interaction with one is when i opened up the door and it was hanging on the screen door staring me in the face. I had to get a water bottle to squirt it to get it off the screen. Well i have to take the blame because i put out a peanut butter sandwich chopped up for them. I can't tell you how many peanuts i found in my planters.

I've never had any go after our pumpkins, but that sounds like a riot! 😂😂😂 My dad, who was full of patience, worked until he had 2 squirrels trusting enough to come down to eat nuts off his shoulder. They'd perch up there and he'd hand feed them. But not as daring as Gerry... letting her get close to his... ah hmm nuts 😁

I can't tell you how many squirrel statues i got from my coworkers to put on the patio. She would get on the railing and stare inside till i would put something out for her. She understood when i told her to step back so i could slide the screen open to feed her. That was great to see your dad feed them. Gerry is just a special guy that the little bugger had no fear of him. |
