I think the app may be some kind of Amazon Prime add on thing, like when you subscribe to other things like HBO it gets added into your Prime. Maybe the page will change tomorrow if it is truly being released then?
I have a feeling this may be one of those 5 theaters in California for one day to make it count as a theatrical release thing may be happening, too. I hope not, but I don't see why they didn't do an entire festival tour.

OK, I have come to this conclusion -
Since IMDb is owned by Amazon every movie that is released can be purchased on IMDb through Amazon for viewing
this notice that is on Headhunter's Calling is above all the movies on IMDb even those not yet released (even HTTYD3) has this notice:
I think Headhunter's calling has been added to that streaming service on Amazon but it does not have that watch now status yet - maybe it will be added tomorrow??

I decided the same thing, it said if 0yo you have the right device? In one place it said the 29th and one place it said the 30th? But at the end it said , Oct. 2. I saw this on my kindle, will check it after midnight? very frustrating, don't have any idea what is going on. Oh yeah, with the picture of Gerry for the movie, underneath it said "trailor." But nothing came up!

Watch Now would mean it is included with Prime, and most new release movies are not immediately included with Prime. If it is truly being released on Amazon, it would have a 24 hour rental option first, followed by a buy now price. So far I still only see listed twice with those free app add on options. One of those does say from Amazon Services for Android App. But I don't understand why the release of this movie would only be on an Amazon mobile add on rather than the full Amazon Video website and streaming service? www.amazon.com/Movie-HD-Quality-Headhunters-Calling/dp/B01LZ058LM/ref=sr_1_1?s=instant-video&ie=UTF8&qid=1475401761&sr=8-1&keywords=headhunters+callingOh and the listing is in French with a 9/30 release date, so still no 10/1 or 2 solved

Has anyone been able to see Headhunter's Calling using that app service? I don't have an android device only an apple one so I wonder how that works? This is so frustrating why aren't they using a more accessible platform!

No, still not in my Prime rent or buy list. I hope it isn't something stupid like whether it has the The or the 's that is holding up the proper listings. When Amazon gets a first run or exclusive movie, they usually make a big deal out of it, not suspect like this.

rabble.ca/podcasts/shows/face2face/2016/11/headhunters-calling-pure-ego-being-present-and-why-were-all-addicts'The Headhunter's Calling,' pure ego, being present and why we're all addicts of one kind or another
Bill, Mark and Face2Face host David Peck talk about their new film The Headhunter's Calling, pure ego, being present and why we’re all addicts of one kind or another. Synopsis A ruthless corporate headhunter (Gerard Butler) battles his rival for control of their job placement company, until a family tragedy brings his personal and professional lives into conflict. Grounded in a generous, soul-searching lead performance from Gerard Butler, this drama follows a corporate headhunter torn between the dictates of his ambition and the needs of his family. For Dane Jensen (Butler), success demands a little ruthlessness; you don't get anywhere without stepping on toes. After years of climbing the corporate ladder, he has the biggest goal of his career in sight. The head of Dane's recruitment company (Willem Dafoe) has announced his retirement -- and the time has come for Dane to pounce. Dane's ascension requires all his attention, particularly given that his biggest rival (Alison Brie) is younger and equally determined. Then the unimaginable happens. Dane's 10-year-old son falls seriously ill. After years of racking up wins in the business world, can Dane find a solution for this terrifying development in his personal life? The Headhunter's Calling marks the directorial debut of veteran producer Mark Williams. The elegant script was written by Bill Dubuque -- writer of The Judge, the Opening Night Gala at the 2014 Festival -- and it draws upon his own years of experience as a headhunter. The film pulses with the thrill of big money and cutthroat career maneuvering, but its heart is in a very different realm. The film is ultimately concerned with domestic stability in crisis, and with the complex question of what really matters in life. The Headhunter's Calling beautifully illustrates how nearly losing everything can redefine what it means to have it all. For more information about TIFF go here. IMDB Biography Mark Williams was born in Denver and earned an MFA in film studies from the University of Miami. His many credits as producer include Flawless, Shuttle, Arena, and The Accountant. The Headhunter's Calling is his feature directorial debut. For more information about my podcasting, writing and public speaking please visit my site here. I was really looking forward to this one. I would have seen regardless, but all those glowing fan comments from tiff... really would have loved to see in the big screen. At this point, I'm still dying to see it streaming at least. Hopefully soon. Thanks for keeping us posted terryann

Just read this comment on the IMDb page for Headhunter's Calling -
and she got this reply-
the film is stuck in Relativity hell- and is without a distributor at this time
until Relativity is on firm financial ground, their titles will be delayed
unless GBase is able to extricate the film and take it elsewhere
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1718924/board/thread/263601270
I did not think Relativity was involved in Headhunter's Calling.. if that information is correct this could be why the film was trying to find a domestic distributor.
