I want to see this movie!!!!!!!! I hope you get to see GOE in a theater - it is a fun movie. Thanks for posting the Blu-Ray trailer for GOE - Now that is a trailer that gets your interest. I just can't get over what a marketing disaster GOE turned out to be .. social media is not good for the world it is too negative!

Damn that's a better trailer than ANY of the theatrical trailers.
They screwed the marketing for this film.
This is a fun film which did not even get a chance.

This from GOE director Alex's facebook page: www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100010704046009&fref=photo THE MAGIC NUMBER... WHAT'S THAT?
We are just about to cross the 140m mark in total global box office for GoE. That's the amount promoted as the "budget" for the movie. Truth is the actual budget is a bit south of that figure. Still several major territories to go and so it seems the movie will, after video, TV etc, eventually turn a humble profit for many distributors.
Sadly not so much the Hollywood studio who bravely financed a large amount of this original fantasy production - but the hit they suffered in the US was due to losing momentum through fear of the "casting backlash". Lesson learnt: Always believe in yourself. When you start making a movie and right through to the end. I have always known that.

Thanks Elsa - here is the google translation -
Nice article, this was the first time Gerry commented on not being too happy about having both films released at the same. I knew he had to be under tremendous stress over finding audiences for both of his films.

Only made its budget? That means the film is still going to be at a loss though if it hasn't at least doubled itself. I still think it will do more in video sales, where people can watch at home without controversary.

Bad timing, summer holidays etc.

Oh yeah, forgot about the UK release. See, they figured on that as last to boost whatever they would get because yeah summer is crazy, so why didn't they wait for later in the US?

Gerard Butler has dreamed from childhood of the great career. Meanwhile this has come true and the actor confessed in an interview with "spot on news" that he could not be happier. About his new strip of 46-year-old said: "As a child I dreamed to play in such a film like 'Gods of Egypt' In my dream I was standing on a mountain with a princess in her arms, surrounded by magicians and kings. . " Over his career, the Scot said in retrospect: "It is certainly the International Become a dream for me." Currently Gerard Butler is the way to see the action film "Gods of Egypt" in the role of the evil god Set in theaters. www.loomee-tv.de/2016/04/gerard-butler-kann-nicht-gluecklicher-sein/

It will be released in UK? GOE will be released in the UK & IRELAND -June 17, 2016The reason it is being released so late is because when Lionsgate moved up the release of GOE in the U.S. to the week before LHF. it caused them a major problem of competing with themselves at the box office since they were releasing both LHF and GOE in the UK - thus they moved GOE to a June release to maximize their profits for both films. Lionsgate wasn't releasing LHF in the United States so they weren't concerned about Gerry having to compete with himself at the Box office cutthroat business making movies! gah
