I think Gerry looks good thud in the new strolling down the street photos.. looks like this could have been a "do-over" photo to show he cleans up nicely smiley-bounce022 (I am thinking though that Gerry may need to grown his beard out long enough to be able to touch up his gray easily-- scruff is almost impossible to touch up.) smiley-happy110
WISHES FOR A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO GERRY AND EVERYONE ON THE SITE!

You know, that sweater looks thin and perfect for that weather. The heavy ones(to me) are too thick and uncomfortable, and I think that is why he wears it more than others. I imagine it was expensive, looks like it.

Hi girls. Just a question? Isn't that the sweater that mg gave him for Christmas? Someone on the DM says Gerry mentioned his mum gave it to him.

I don't think the DM knows anymore than we do about where he has been. But I believe he was on the flight to LA. This was not a reunion yesterday, they just had lunch there and this is the first time they have been seen. We know how he can really hide when he wants. He really looks good, relaxed and very happy. Just now catching up with himself after working so hard and then the quick trip home. Glad to see them together and you can see how they really like each other. For once he did not seem to mind the Paparottzi(?) Personally I like the sweater he had on when he was walking alone, classy. Maybe he could have worn it better..... While I don't think it was a "reunion" I get the impression that it was the first they had met that day hence the kiss, and that's all it was, not the snog that the paper says. There are some, and I tend to be one of them, who believe that they don't live together. It's been pointed out that many times they arrive, and leave separately. There was also photos of Gerry doing his own shopping and also popping out for a takeaway breakfast and a coffee. That's a man living on his own, not one sharing a house.

I like the pants, but the sweater is fine for a grandfather !!! maybe it's because of this sweater that they have aged him 10 years smiley-laughing025 I quite like the cardigan, and let's remember, officially he is old enough to have been a grandfather for 14 years. In Scotland you can marry at 16 and therefore become a grandparent at 32.

Hi girls. Just a question? Isn't that the sweater that mg gave him for Christmas? I remember reading that MG gave it to him, but don't know when. I personally hate it. He must like it though, because he wore it a lot last Christmas whilst in Scotland too. In fact, he was wearing it in most of the pics. Travelling light. smiley-laughing025 Wearing it a lot last Christmas would rather indicate that it was his mum who gave it to him and he was wearing to let her see he likes it. It does look like the kind of thing a mother would pick

Ouch, that`s a bit young. Still babies imo. Does these kind of young marriages happen often over there?

Does these kind of young marriages happen often over there? You can legally get married and make babies at 16, yet it's illegal to serve or buy alcohol until you're 18! Most stores won't sell alcohol to persons under 25 now, just to be safe. Many bars are 21+ in Glasgow. Always carry ID if you're blessed with youthful genes! You can drive at 17

You`re allowed to make babies here too at 16, but you can`t get married until you`ve turned 18. (think you could get married WITH parental consent at 16 in the past, but not in these days) So you`ve got to be atleast 25 to buy alcohol in stores! That is even more strict than here, even if we have to go to these special shops to buy it. (you have to be 21) And 18 is the limit for beer. That they do sell in the supermarkets.

Does these kind of young marriages happen often over there? There are not very many marriages at 16 Embla, but it used to be much younger, this is from the web site of the National Records of Scotland: What Was and Is The Minimum Age For Marriage in Scotland?
Before 1929, Scots law followed Roman law in allowing a girl to marry at twelve years of age and a boy at fourteen, without any requirement for parental consent. However, according to one early 20th-century source*, marriage in Scotland at such young ages was in practice almost unknown. No doubt if marriages between children had become common, there would have been public pressure to raise the legal minimum age of marriage earlier than 1929. The Age of Marriage Act 1929 (applying in Scotland, England & Wales but not in Northern Ireland) made void any marriage between persons either of whom was under the age of sixteen. Sixteen remains the lower age-limit today, contained in the current legislation, the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977. Scots law still has no requirement for parental consent.
